Bank Holiday dates for England and Wales in 2025 full list | UK | News

Get your diaries out – it’s time to note down the Bank Holidays for next year.

With just two bank holidays left in 2024, you might already be pondering over the dates for those much-needed respites from work in 2025. These public holidays fall on different days each year, influenced by weekends or shifting annual occasions like Easter.

Sadly, there are no current plans to add extra bank holidays to the eight we’ll receive in 2025, as there’s no major national celebrations on the horizon. However, on a brighter note, the first bank holiday of 2025 isn’t too far off as it falls on January 1.

The subsequent one will take place just over three months later on Good Friday. While this year’s Easter bank holidays were on March 29 and April 1, next year’s Easter will be slightly later, with Good Friday landing on Friday, April 18, and Easter Monday on Monday, April 21.

May’s pair of bank holidays will fall on Monday, May 5 and Monday, May 26, while the summer bank holiday, typically towards the end of the school summer break, is set for Monday, August 25.

To wrap up the year, the Christmas bank holidays for the following year will be on Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26. And if you’re even curious about the bank holidays for 2026, the Government has already listed these as well.
