Jamie Foxx injured after being struck in the face with glass on his birthday | Ents & Arts News
Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has been injured after being struck in the mouth with a glass – as reports suggest he was involved in a “physical altercation” while celebrating his birthday.
A representative for Foxx said the 57-year-old “had to get stitches and is recovering” after the incident at the Mr Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills, California.
They told Sky News’ US partner network NBC News that someone at another table “threw a glass that hit him in the mouth” and the matter is now in “law enforcement’s hands”.
It comes as Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) said they received a call shortly after 10pm local time on Friday about a “possible assault with a deadly weapon” at the restaurant.
Officers arrived at the scene and determined the report was “unfounded” and that instead the incident involved a “physical altercation between parties”.
The force said it “conducted a preliminary investigation” and completed a report “documenting the battery”.
BHPD does not name Foxx in its news release, but police sources have told celebrity news site TMZ that the actor was involved in the altercation.
No arrests were made.

Foxx was celebrating his birthday on Friday and was reportedly at the restaurant with his two daughters and former partner Kristin Grannis.
The incident follows the release earlier this month of Foxx’s Netflix special “What Had Happened Was…”, during which he speaks about how he suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke last year.
Foxx said he underwent surgery at an Atlanta hospital and then received rehabilitation at a facility in Chicago.
