Amazon slashes luxury Elemis cleanser by almost £13
As a beauty editor in my 40s, I’ve learned that a good cleanser is one of the most important steps in any skincare routine. So, I was particularly pleased to see one of my favourite cleansing balms has been discounted ahead of the Amazon Prime Day sale. The sale event is due to kick off on July 8 and run until July 11. However, if you can’t wait until then, Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is currently included in Amazon UK’s early Prime Day sale.
It’s currently £36.75, down from its usual £49, offering a very tempting £12.25 saving. Similarly, the Elemis Balm is also discounted at Boots to £36.75; meanwhile, you can buy it from LookFantastic for £39.20.
I’ve tried various cleansers before, but one of the things I loved about the Elemis cleanser is its balm consistency and how it leaves my skin feeling afterwards.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is rich and buttery-soft. It starts off feeling like thick oil and slowly melts into the skin, breaking down makeup, SPF, and impurities with zero effort. Once you start massaging, it transforms into a sort of cleansing milk, making it easy to rinse off without leaving behind residue.
One of my favourite moments is scooping out the balm, warming it between my hands, and gently massaging it onto my face at the end of the day. It feels indulgent, but it also gets the job done. The scent is light and spa-like, giving that instant moment of calm at the end of a long day. Plus, it leaves my skin feeling so smooth.
And it’s not just me saying this. One Amazon review said: “Leaves my skin feeling so soft and nourished – a little luxury every evening.”
Another shopper added: “Luxurious but effective. I’d been on the fence, but this really lives up to the hype.” Although not everyone was entirely convinced. One shopper said: “Lovely texture, but I found it a bit greasy in hot weather – it clogged my pores a bit.”
And that’s a fair point. I found that, if your skin tends to be more oily, or you’re heading into warmer months, this might be a product to use as part of a double cleanse or saved for cooler seasons when skin needs a bit more comfort. It can leave a little bit of a sheen.
Since using it, my skin has felt incredibly soft and smooth, though never tight or squeaky. Although it’s a difference from the usual liquid cleanser, it still managed to melt away every last trace of makeup (including waterproof mascara and full-coverage foundation).
I recommend applying it to dry skin in the evening, really take your time massaging it in, then remove it with a warm, damp flannel. If you prefer, follow with a second gentle cleanser, then finish with your serum and moisturiser.
The cleanser also comes in a few different scents, including green fig and rose, though the original balm is currently the one with the biggest discount on Amazon.
