Trump met by King Charles, royals at Windsor Castle on U.K. state visit

Trump was then set to pay a visit to the crypt of St. George’s Chapel, where Queen Elizabeth II is buried, to lay a wreath.

He is also set to tour the chapel itself, built in 1475 under Edward IV and completed under Henry VIII, a site of worship for the royal family and resting place of monarchs including George VI, the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret.

For the first time for a visiting world leader, a group of 200 musicians will perform a “Beating Retreat,” a musical military ceremony that dates back to the 17th century.

The pageant, watched by U.K and U.S. military personnel and their families, will end with a joint flyover of Windsor Castle’s East Lawn by two F-35 jets from the royal Air Force, and two from the 493rd Fighter Squadron U.S. Air Force.

The F-35s will be followed by nine Hawk T1 jets of the Royal Air Force Aerobatics Team, better known as the Red Arrows.

Outside Windsor’s walls, the picture was not so welcoming.
