Simple cleaning method helps to eliminate dust ‘from any room’

Dusting isn’t a fun task as it can take a lot of time, however it’s a chore that you do need to keep on top of, otherwise you’ll soon be dealing with piles of dust that are inches thick over your most treasured possessions.

Dust is made of a lot of things from inside and outside of your homes, and none of them are particularly pleasant.

“It’s mostly made of dead skin cells, dust mites, dead insect particles, soil, pollen, tiny plastic particles, bacteria, hair, and clothing fibers,” says Natalie Barrett of Nifty Cleaning Services.

Cleaning TikToker @KleanKrish has now shared “how to eliminate dust from any room” so you don’t have to struggle with the best ways of doing it.

First, Krish says that you should get an “extendable duster,” and “dust all corners of the room” you’re focusing on.

This will get rid of any dust and cobwebs, and once you’ve done that, it’s time to do the tops of the door frames, which can often be overlooked.

Then, get a flat mop and a microfibre cloth, and “dry dust” walls, depending on what type of paint you have.

“I’ve got matte paint walls so I can only dry dust, but if you have silk paint, you can wet dust and wet your microfibre cloth,” Krish said.

It’s time to move on to the furniture then, and dust the highest flat surface and make sure you dust it. In the video, Krish climbed on top of his wardrobe, which isn’t recommended, but you can use a long-handle dusted to get every last bit of dust up.

Krish said that he prefers to “vacuum up the dust” because you’re “actually capturing the dust rather than just moving it around the room”.

He also said that you need to go “top to bottom” as dust settles, so you go from “the highest surface to the lowest surface”.

You should then focus your attention on your windows, and window sills. Use the hoover attachment for this, too, making sure you go all the way around the window frames, as dust can settle here.

Then, using the same hoover attachment, clean the skirting boards. He said you’ll be able to get right into the “groove” that appears on most skirting boards to make it super clean.

“Then the last step is to hoover all the dust that has settled on your floor. Then that’s it. Now your room is fully free of dust,” he said.

This means that you’ll be able to actually clean everything properly from top to bottom now, as there won’t be any dust getting in the way of the products.
