Max Verstappen won the Las Vegas Grand Prix, though his slim chances of claiming a fifth world title have been seriously harmed.

Lando Norris, who finished in second place, will win the drivers’ championship in Qatar next if he does not lose more than five points to Oscar Piastri, or 17 to Verstappen.

Norris started on pole and defended aggressively from Verstappen, but misjudged his breaking point and ran deep into the corner.

Verstappen took the lead and stormed first to the chequered line for his sixth win of the season.
