The NSW Ambulance Service has confirmed that six individuals were taken to nearby hospitals after a shooting at Bondi Beach.

An ambulance spokesperson said staff were treating people at the scene for gunshot injuries, but could not provide details on the severity of their conditions.

Ambulance services were called to the area at 6:45 PM AEDT in response to reports of multiple people being shot. A total of 25 units responded, including helicopters and intensive care teams.

Of those hospitalised, four were taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, one to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and one to St George Hospital.
