Fulham vs Liverpool delayed due to medical emergency | Football | Sport

Fulham’s 3pm Premier League clash with Liverpool FC has been delayed by 15 minutes due to a medical emergency. Explaining the delay, Johnny Phillips told Sky Sports: “A medical emergency here involving a medical of staff.

“They’ve had to all an ambulance to the ground. The road is closed to traffic before the match. They’ve had to reopen the road. For now all the players are back inside the dressing room.”

Elsewhere, the Premier League also shared a statement, which read: “Due to a medical incident in the crowd at Craven Cottage, kick-off for today’s match between Fulham and Liverpool has been delayed until 3:15pm.”

It comes as Arne Slot‘s Liverpool travel to Craven Cottage on Sunday with hopes narrowing the gap in the Premier League standings, following a lacklustre start to the season. As things stand, the Reds sit fourth in the table with 10 wins, three draws and 6 losses to show for their efforts.

At the time of writing, Liverpool are eight points adrift of a third-place Manchester City, and 15 points off league leaders, Arsenal. Fulham, meanwhile, will hope to continue to turn the tide following a poor run of form of their own.

Currently 14th with eight wins, as many losses and three draws from 19 outings, Fulham head into the clash unbeaten in their last four league outings, thanks to wins over Burnley, Nottingham Forest and West Ham, on top of a draw with Crystal Palace.
