Rangers star Dujon Sterling arrested hours after Celtic Old Firm win | Football | Sport
Rangers star Dujon Sterling has been charged following an alleged car crash in Glasgow, just hours after a triumphant Old Firm match at Celtic Park. The incident, involving a single vehicle, occurred on West Graham Street in the city around 1.25am on Sunday, January 4.
The 26-year-old right-back was subsequently arrested and charged with road traffic offences. He is set to face court proceedings in due course. It’s understood that no injuries resulted from the incident. Sterling had played a pivotal role in Rangers’ 3-1 victory over Celtic earlier that day, even taking to social media post-match to tease Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed: “Around 1.25am on Sunday, 4 January, 2026, police received a report of a one-vehicle crash on West Graham Street, Glasgow.
“No injuries were reported. The driver, a 26 year old man, was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences. He’s expected to appear at court at a later date.”
Sterling joined Rangers in 2023 on a four-year contract after departing Stoke City and shared a Venn diagram previously posted by Nancy on his Instagram account after the match.
The image, originally posted by Nancy, showed two circles of ‘things that matter’ and ‘things you can control’ and an arrow between them, captioned: ‘What you should focus on’.
Nancy had made the image his profile picture in the wake of strong criticism from the Celtic faithful.
But Sterling rubbed the coach’s nose in the result, which he played the entire 90 minutes of, by sharing it once again.
Danny Rohl’s Rangers moved level on 38 points with Celtic, though the pair are still six points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts.
Sterling was making only his fourth league appearance of the season, against Celtic, having recently returned from a long-term Achilles injury.
