‘Amazing’ Liam Neeson film which changed fans’ view of star on ITV tonight | Films | Entertainment

A Liam Neeson thriller has left viewers declaring they’ll never view the actor in quite the same light again, earning acclaim as both ‘gripping’ and ‘the finest action flick’.

Taken centres on former CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) in a desperate race against the clock to save his teenage daughter Kim after Albanian human traffickers snatch her during a Parisian holiday with a mate.

Deploying his “very particular set of skills,” Mills jets to France, ruthlessly hunting down the abductors and destroying anyone who stands between him and his daughter’s rescue, delivering his legendary threat to the criminals that he will track them down and eliminate them.

The movie boasts an unforgettable monologue from Liam Neeson, with his character’s spine-tingling declaration: “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don’t have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career.

“Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.”

The film has achieved massive global success, with cinema enthusiasts awarding it glowing reviews, reports <a href=”https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/liam-neeson-film-fans-say-36499644″ rel=”Follow” target=”_self”>the Mirror</a>.

One review awarded it five stars, saying: “Liam Neeson is a killing machine in this movie with the martial arts skills you’ve seen in a Paul Greengrass film.

“The concept of a former Green Beret man, retired from his security work, in a mission to rescue his daughter from Albanian traffickers sells. It’s very well done with slick photography, a tolerably good music score, and good action sequences. You could end up laughing at all the blood shed (well, implied) and the ease with which he finds the “bad guys,” but you buy the father’s rage. It should earn a higher Roger Ebert star rating, imo. Ebert could be a tough, demanding critic. Simply put – the film is entertaining.”

Another viewer said: “Amazing movie, i loved it when i was little and i was not a fan of action and was obsessed.

“Entertaining, to the point and fast moving action. Great character portrayal by all cast members. Enjoyed it a lot,” remarked a third fan.

A fourth viewer added: “Best action movie that I can remember. Flawless acting from Neeson. Perfect story and followed with a perfect pacing. It gives great entertainment without being a too long film. Definitely a must-watch movie whenever you get a free moment.

“Great film with fun action and a good story and definitely the best of liam Neesons late action movie skirmishes. A classic that is also rewatchable,” wrote a fifth admirer.

Taken airs on Wednesday 7 January on ITV1 at 10.45pm.
