Furious Kremlin stooges have urged Russian command to launch a nuclear attack on the UK in the wake of a joint US-UK operation to seize an oil tanker in the Atlantic yesterday.
Vladimir Putin plunged millions of Ukrainians into cold and darkness amid Russian fury over a US and British operation to seize the Marinera oil tanker in the North Atlantic.
Attacks on power plants left the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions almost completely without electricity, cutting heating supplies in the punishing cold winter.
This came after Russia‘s humiliation from the American seizure of a shadow fleet ship despite Putin’s warnings to the US to leave it alone.
As the Kremlin dictator retreated out of sight, his frothing war fanatics demanded retaliation – including a nuclear response – which could put the globe on a trajectory to World War Three.
Russian lawmaker Alexei Zhuravlev told Putin to “attack with torpedoes” after the US-British operation and “sink a couple of American Coast Guard boats”.
He raged that “this is nothing less than outright piracy – the seizure of a civilian vessel by the armed forces of the American navy.
“In essence, it is the same as an encroachment on Russian territory, since the tanker was sailing under our national flag.
“There is no doubt that the response must be firm and swift – our military doctrine in such a case even provides for the use of nuclear weapons.”
The deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s defence committee, he said: “I think the United States, which is in a kind of euphoria of impunity after the special operation in Venezuela, can only be stopped now with such a slap on the nose.”
Another hardline MP and reserve commander Lt-Gen Andrey Gurulev lashed out: “There’s nothing stopping us from imposing sanctions against all ships heading to Black Sea ports, Odesa, Mykolaiv…..stopping, inspecting and, in fact, even sinking them if we don’t like something.”
He urged using nuclear-capable missile systems like Oreshnik to hit the West’s missile production capabilities, singling out a German arms maker.
“What’s stopping us from striking, for example, at Rheinmetall, which produces ammunition for Ukraine? Nothing.
“And then the ammunition will run out.”
Questioning Putin’s failure so far to respond after a call – ignored by the US – for America not to seize the fleeing Marinera – he declared: “We need the political will to cut off all channels.”
Dmitry Medvedev, former Kremlin president and deputy head of the Kremlin’s security council, issued a message to Donald Trump‘s administration: “Don’t play games with Russia.”
Normally loyalist Telegram channel Two Majors mocked Russia for reacting too slowly.
“Russia….sent a submarine and other forces for escort, but probably didn’t make it in time,” said the outlet.
“Until the brazen Yanks and their European lackeys start getting PG-7V grenades at their pirate helicopters and kamikaze drones at the sides of pirate ships – they won’t understand that such tricks are dangerous to health and economically unprofitable.
“And generally, it would be good to sink at least two tankers working for pirate states for every Russian tanker captured.”
Many saw it as an embarrassment for Putin, with Zapiska Veterana channel milblogger channel with 306,000 followers usually aligned with Kremlin narratives overtly threatening Trump.
“If things continue like this, we need to start asking whether he should even be allowed to physically live out the rest of his term,” stated the Russian outlet.
But Putin remained out of sight in the immediate aftermath of the culmination of the cross-Atlantic change to impound the tanker, in which Britain played a supporting role to the US.
The dictator has been seen only once this year – at a midnight church service marking Orthodox Christmas.
Yet he showed his anger with relentless strikes on energy infrastructure in Ukraine.
The brutal onslaught against civilians hit areas with a population of five million.
Lighting, heating and water supplies stopped working as temperatures hovered just above zero.
Trains and trams were massively disrupted, as were hospitals, amid fears for children and the elderly.
Footage showed darkened cities suffered complete blackouts.
“Russian forces launched another attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure,” said the country’s energy ministry.
“As a result of the attack, the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions are almost completely without electricity.
“Critical infrastructure is operating on backup power.”
More than one million people in Dnipropetrovsk were still without power this morning.
Among the cities hit was Kryvyi Rih, birthplace of Volodymyr Zelensky where eight were wounded in a massive drone strike.
