A daring, provocative yet heartfelt romantic drama dubbed a “future British classic” is now available to stream in the comfort of your living room.

The film features a celebrated Hollywood actor alongside a recognisable Harry Potter alumnus in a dramatically different part, and was praised as amongst the finest new cinema offerings of the previous year.

Having secured a remarkable 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, Pillion is now available to rent and purchase on digital services, including Prime Video and Apple TV.

Harry Melling, formerly recognised for his portrayal of Dudley Dursley opposite Daniel Radcliffe’s famous wizard, takes on the role of Colin, a quiet young parking attendant who develops a rapport with Ray, a striking, statuesque motorcyclist (portrayed by Alexander Skarsgård).

Penned and helmed by first-time director Harry Lighton, the picture adopts an unflinching yet compassionate perspective on their unconventional BDSM dynamic whilst delivering a thoughtful exploration of masculinity in the queer community, reports the Mirror.

Filmhounds crowned Pillion a “future classic”, whilst Sight and Sound described it as a “feel-good English comedy” notwithstanding its deeply sensual scenes. Time Out awarded it a perfect five-star rating, declaring: “Pillion is a wonderful film that’s heavy with purpose… All that and it’s also very, very hot.”

Collider delivered an enthusiastic review, stating: “Pillion is a tremendous debut from Harry Lighton, an unpredictable tale that combines a compelling coming-of-age story, an endearing comedy, and a sex-positive odd romance into one of the best films of the year.”

The Telegraph highlighted Melling’s remarkable transformation: “Melling’s high-wire skill at cycling between elation and sadness keeps the film resolutely grounded.

Meanwhile, a Rotten Tomatoes reviewer awarded five stars, calling it an “absolutely stunning film”.
