Brits could be eligible for a financial boost this year from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The DWP has released a full list of medical conditions which qualify for PIP. This will be the case from October 25. The list contains 178 medical conditions which could make you eligible for regular support payments of up to £187.45 per week.
Payments are given to people who need extra help with daily living tasks. Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a disability benefit paid to those with long-term physical or mental health conditions, disabilities, or learning difficulties.

PIP those who need help with daily living tasks, particularly people of State Pension age who want to maintain their independence at home. The payments are non-means-tested and tax-free.
Either £77.05 or £110.40 will be paid to recipients each week during the 2025/26 financial year, depending on the level of support needed.
Payments will increase by 3.8%, along with other benefits, at the start of the new financial year.
Personal Independence Payments are provided to individuals with long-term illnesses, mental health conditions, or physical or learning disabilities.
Eligibility for PIP is not determined by National Insurance contributions, and it’s not means-tested – meaning that even if you’re employed, have savings, or are receiving other benefits, you can still qualify for the payments to help you with daily living tasks.
PIP consists of a daily living rate and a mobility rate – you may be eligible for just one of these payments or both at the same time. Both of these rates offer a standard rate and an enhanced rate.

How much is PIP?
These are the latest weekly rates, but it’s crucial to remember that PIP is paid every four weeks:
Daily living component: £73.90 (lower weekly rate) or £110.40 (higher weekly rate)
Mobility component: £29.20 (lower weekly rate) or £77.05 (higher weekly rate)
So, if you qualify for both the enhanced daily living and enhanced mobility components of the payments, you will receive a total of £749.80 every four weeks.
If you qualify for both the standard daily living and standard mobility components, you will receive £412.40 every four weeks.
However, because we are currently in January 2026, these rates are about to change. In April 2026, the DWP will increase benefit payments by 3.8%
