‘Puppy wandered into my home with no collar then I hit the jackpot’

Finding an abandoned dog can be utterly devastating, particularly when accompanied by a handwritten note. Perhaps the previous owners lacked money to provide proper care, or circumstances simply weren’t suitable for meeting the animal’s needs.

Now one individual has shared how a mysterious puppy wandered into their property without any note whatsoever. Neighbours haven’t recognised the canine or possess any knowledge of its origins.

The animal lover, who has extensive experience with cats, is seeking guidance as the pup “likes to curl up” beside them and whimpers whenever they exit the room.

Taking to Reddit’s r/puppies forum, they explained: “Hello all. I’m a long time cat owner. Today a random puppy wandered into my house.

“No collar and pretty skinny. He likes to curl up next to me and cries the moment I go into another room. The strange thing is I just met him like an hour ago.”

They added: “What should I do? I’ve tried texting the neighbours but no one knows him. It’s getting dark and cold outside so I’ll take him to the vet tomorrow. Maybe find a chip?”

Wrapping up their message, the poster asked: “What else should I do? Does anyone know what kind of breed and age of this puppy? Thank you.”
