Ex-Premier League owner stabbed in London home by masked robbers | Football | Sport
Fawaz Al-Hasawi, the former Nottingham Forest owner, was stabbed by masked robbers after they confronted him in his home earlier this month. Al-Hasawi, 57, owned the Premier League club between 2012 and 2017 before selling Forest to their current chief, Evangelos Marinakis.
His tenure saw the club cycle through nine managers in five years in the Championship, with Marinakis subsequently overseeing their return to the Premier League back in 2022. The Sun report that Al-Hasawi, a Kuwaiti businessman, was in his £10million home in Mayfair when it was raided by robbers.
Al-Hasawi is said to have been sleeping when they entered his room and he was left with stab wounds to his hands and neck after the confrontation.
Images of Al-Hasawi with bandaged hands have circulated widely on social media. The report adds that it is currently unclear if the assailants made off with anything from the former Forest owner’s home.

According to the report, the Metropolitan Police said the injuries Al-Hasawi suffered were not life-threatening or life-changing and enquiries were continuing.
Nottingham Forest have established themselves as a Premier League side following Marinakis’ takeover of the club and they qualified for European football last term after finishing seventh. They have, however, had a difficult 2025-26 season and currently sit 17th in the table.
