Tesco Clubcard launches new £1 rule – customers will be happy | Personal Finance | Finance
Tesco has launched a new initiative available to the 24 million Tesco Clubcard members. The multinational has announced that customers can now turn every £1 in vouchers into £1 to use with Tesco Travel Insurance. Clubcard vouchers can be exchanged for a Reward Partner code and redeemed at checkout on the Tesco Insurance website after receiving a travel insurance quote.
A minimum of £5 in vouchers can be exchanged and put towards Single Trip, Annual Multi-Trip, or Backpacker insurance policies. The move comes as new research from Tesco Insurance revealed that 70% of Brits have already booked a holiday for 2026. 38% have also already booked two or more holidays for this year. Even those yet to confirm their plans are gearing up for take-off, with one in four (24%) intending to book two holidays this year and 28% expecting to book three or more.
Alex Cross, chief customer officer at Tesco Insurance and Money Services, said: “This initiative is a first for Tesco Insurance and Money Services, and represents a milestone in how we deliver value for our Clubcard customers.
“By making travel insurance more accessible for our Clubcard holders, more people up and down the country can now plan trips and travel in peace, knowing that their health and holiday are protected.”
He also urged travellers not to overlook insurance when planning their trips.
Mr Cross added: “Whether you’re finally planning that bucket list trip, arranging a revisit of your favourite cities, or looking forward to a relaxing beach holiday, it’s easy for travel insurance to fly under the radar as you focus on organising the sites and bites of your upcoming trip.

“Booking your travel insurance well in advance means you can get a vital task ticked off your list, and if you’re planning multiple trips in 2026, then getting an annual multi-trip policy in place can save you money in the long run.”
The findings are based on an online survey conducted by WALR among 2,085 UK residents aged 18 and over who have travelled domestically or internationally for leisure within the past two years. Fieldwork took place between December 5 and December 9, 2025.
Shoppers who wish to sign up for a Tesco Clubcard can do so online or via the Tesco app. Members collect one point for every £1 spent, with points converted into vouchers that can be used for money off shopping or exchanged for double value with Reward Partners.
Clubcard members can also browse the latest deals and offers and view full terms and conditions on the Tesco website.
