Sky News halted for breaking Iran announcement: ‘Think you know why’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Sky News was paused as US defence secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a breaking announcement about Iran‘s new supreme leader, who has been “likely disfigured”. Speaking from The Pentagon, he explained: “Iran’s leadership is in no better state. Desperate and hiding, they have gone underground to cower. That’s what rats do. We know the supreme leader is wounded and likely disfigured. He put out a statement yesterday, a weak one, actually. There was no voice, and there was no video – it was a written statement. He called for unity. Apparently, killing tens of thousands of protestors is his kind of unity…”

“Iran has plenty of cameras and plenty of voice recorders – so why a written statement? I think you know why…”

The politician continued: “His father is dead. He is scared and injured. He’s on the run and he lacks legitimacy. It’s a mess for them. Who’s in charge? Iran may not even know.”

He added: “With every passing hour we know that they know the military capabilities of their evil regime are crumbling. They can barely communicate, yet alone coordinate.

“They are confused and they know it. Our response? We will keep pressing – we will keep pushing and keep advancing. No mercy for our enemies.”

Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has not been seen by Iranians since his selection on Sunday.

Hegseth also said the USA would launch its highest volume of attacks on Iran during the announcement.

He stated Iran would be unable to build more weapons as all of the nation’s defence companies “will be destroyed”.

The war broke out between Iran, the USA, and Israel on February 28 when the US targeted its military sites, leadership and missile infrastructure.
