Aryna Sabalenka’s fiance with large age gap has huge net worth 5x Elena Rybakina’s | Tennis | Sport

Aryna Sabalenka will have the support of her mega-rich fiance when she takes to the court for the final of the Paribas Open in Indian Wells. The world number one recently got engaged to Georgios Frangulis, the founder of Oakberry, an acai bowl company.

The pair met after the four-time Grand Slam champion became an Oakberry ambassador at the beginning of 2024 before making their relationship public last year. Thanks to his success with the growing superfood brand, Frangulis, who at 37 is 10 years her partner’s senior, boasts an estimated net worth of around £55million. At the end of her successful 2025, which saw her win Wimbledon and the US Open, Sabalenka’s net worth stood at around £16m.

Meanwhile, her opponent in the Indian Wells final, Elena Rybakina, has a net worth of around £10m, more than five times less than Frangulis’. The match is a repeat of the Australian Open final in January, which Rybakina won in three sets.

Since then, Sabalenka and Frangulis have got engaged amid romantic scenes, which she shared on social media. Surrounded by flowers and candles – and someone with a phone to capture the big moment – Sabalenka said yes before the pair embraced.

The Instagram-shared video then cut to a close-up of the hefty ring on her finger. In sharing the footage, Sabalenka wrote: “You & me, forever 3.3.26,” with infinity, ring and white heart emojis.

In further clips on her Instagram story, Sabalenka showed off the ring again and wrote: “Well, I obviously had NO idea this was happening tonight [laughing face emoji].”

The engagement shouldn’t come as a major surprise to anyone, given a major hint from Sabalenka after winning the Brisbane International tournament in January. She said: “As always, last but not least, thank you my team for handling me.

“I’m really the toughest one to handle and you guys are the toughest people in the world if you can handle me. Thank you, guys, I love you. And thank you to my boyfriend. Hopefully, soon I’ll call you somehow else, right?”

Sabelenka reached the Indian Wells final by seeing off 14th seed Linda Noskova 6-3 6-4. Meanwhile, Rybakina beat ninth seed Elina Svitolina 7-5 6-4.

In the first set, Rybakina and Svitolina swapped early breaks before the world number three – who will rise to number two in the updated rankings – grabbed the decisive break in the 11th game. Rybakina broke twice in the second set to lead 5-1 and had a match point, but Svitolina fought her way back to 5-4 before the Kazakh served out the match at the second attempt.
