Popular European make-up retailer to open more stores in the UK
Much-loved beauty giant Sephora has announced plans to open its first stores in Scotland later this year, as part of a massive expansion initiative. The retailer is set to open new locations in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Sephora will open its first Scottish stores at St James Quarter in Edinburgh and Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow. Both locations are expected to open their doors during the summer of 2026. Glasgow’s site will become the retailer’s largest store in Scotland.
The Edinburgh store will span 4,961 sq ft, while the Glasgow site will cover 5,048 sq ft, reported Retail Gazette.
Sarah Boyd, Sephora UK’s managing director, said: “The Sephora UK team and I are thrilled to finally reveal that we’re bringing our ‘temples of beauty’ to not one, but two incredible Scottish cities this summer – with fans crying out for a Scottish beauty playground.
“It has been three years since we opened our first UK store; from the very beginning we’ve been searching for the perfect locations for us to open in the region and we are so happy to have found them in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter and Silverburn Glasgow.
“Opening in both Edinburgh and Glasgow this summer is about bringing double the energy, double the access and double the magic to a country that has long been calling for it.”
It was announced back in February that Sephora would be opening two new locations in London, including Carnaby Street and at Old Spitalfields Market later this year. The new Carnaby Street store will be Sephora UK’s 15th location with 2,691 sq ft of retail space and Spitalfields will be its 16th location with 2045 sq ft of retail space.
Outside of the capital, the retailer has been busy opening up locations, including its first in Northern Ireland at Belfast’s Victoria Square, as well as Bristol Cabot Circus, which is due to open its doors during the spring. All of these locations are a part of Sephora UK’s massive expansion plans to reach 20 stores across the country by the end of 2026.
The products available in the confirmed boutique stores will include a signature mix of fan favourites, smaller independent brands, and exclusive ‘Only At Sephora’ collections. The likes of Rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup By Mario, Merit Beauty, INNBeauty Project, and Tower 28 will be on sale alongside viral favourites.
