Popular sweet treat issued urgent recall notice
A food recall notice has been issued for certain batches of two sweet products over undeclared allergens. Customers with allergies to soy and/or milk have been warned not to eat the products.
The recall has been issued by Italian food brand Seggiano, who explained that two of its nougat products are affected. This is due to allergens being left of the packaging and ingredient labels. The Food Standards Agency’s risk statement read: “These products contain milk and soy lecithin making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents or an allergy to soya.”
Segginao further explained in its own statements the allergen of soy lecithin was not declared on the packaging was left of one batch of the Seggiano Chocolate Covered Torrone. Two batches of the Seggiano Pistachio and Chocolate Covered Torrone had the allergens soy lecithin and milk were not declared on the label.

The brand has urged customers with allergies or intolerances relating to soy and or milk to not eat the sweet treats. Seggiano has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, according to the FSA.
The FSA explained the company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
Any customers who have purchased the affected batches of the Seggiano products are encouraged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
