Lego launches Easter builds including Ferrari ‘childhood dream’ car
LEGO fans are in luck, as the company has released some sets and builds for Easter. From a Ferrari ‘childhood dream’ car to Sulley, Mike and Boo Figures from Monsters, Inc., they are ideal for both younger and older builders alike.
Starting off, there’s the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale Sports Car set, currently available for £22.99. Suitable for ages nine and over, and featuring 339 pieces, this Speed Champions model replicates the real-life version’s cab-forward design.
There’s also a minifigure driver wearing a Ferrari outfit and helmet, completing the set. To build it, shoppers can use the LEGO Builder app for interactive 3D building instructions, with the option to zoom in and rotate sets in 3D.
For other car fanatics, there’s also the Speed Champions Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 Race Car for £22.99, as well as the LEGO Icons Ferrari F2004 & Michael Schumacher set for £79.99.
But if it’s not cars shoppers are after, there are many other options to choose from, including this Monsters, Inc. set, featuring Sulley, Mike and Boo Figures for £19.99. This is suitable for those aged 10 and over and features 303 pieces.
The site says fans can ‘act out Monsters, Inc. moments with the beloved characters’, making this a great small movie gift-giving idea for girls and boys. The set includes the three brick-built character figures, plus three stands.
There’s also the Looney Tunes Bugs Bunny figure for £34.99, which is suitable for ages 14 and over and has 605 pieces. Once completed, builders will have a bust of Bugs Bunny on a buildable baseplate. Builders can also pose their creation by adjusting the movable head, ears and fingers, and the set includes a bee and spring toy flower.
Last but not least, there’s the LEGO Botanicals Sunflower Bouquet for £54.99. This is for adults aged 18 and over and has 686 pieces. The bouquet includes one sunflower bud, three sunflowers beginning to bloom, and two large fully opened sunflowers.
The set includes adjustable petals and stems, as well as four eucalyptus stems for ‘added authenticity’. Once complete, builders will have a ‘gorgeous’ floral creation to display, and it could make a great gift for any plant lovers.
As an alternative, on Amazon, there’s this Flower Garden Building Toys set for £11.90, made by the brand DOTDROPTRY. It is suitable for children aged three years and over and features interchangeable pieces, meaning kids can create ‘hundreds of possible flower arrangements’, the listing says.
Or at Debenhams, there’s the CaDa Master Italian Super Racing Car set for £214.99. This allows builders to create the ‘iconic Italian supercar’ with 3,187 detailed pieces. It is described as a ‘challenging building experience’ and will result in a large 1:8 scale model once completed.
Shoppers have left positive reviews for the LEGO sets. One said about the Ferrari car: “LEGO was my favourite toy as a child and I was looking for a new hobby. Why not try a childhood dream. Loved building this and have ordered two more models.”
While a second said: “Very solid build and looks great when fully put together. Speed Champions has always been a great theme and this set further shows that.”
One person deducted a star for the car, saying that while “this was my first Speed Champions set and I was impressed with the level of detail, especially around the rear diffuser and exhausts”, they did find some of the stickers a little bit fiddly.
Overall, though, most were pleased with their purchases. One said about the Monsters, Inc. figures: “I love Monster Inc., one of my favourite Pixar films, when I saw this, I had to pick it up. Love it!”
