Key Nationwide Fairer Share payment dates as announcement expected | Personal Finance | Finance
Millions of Nationwide members are hopeful of receiving a free £100 payment later in 2026.
This comes after the world’s largest building society distributed what it calls “Fairer Share” payments in 2023, 2024, and again in 2025. In each of those years, certain eligibility criteria had to be met.
According to Nationwide‘s website: “We share our profits with our members’ refers to our Fairer Share Payment. If you bank as well as save or have a mortgage with us, you could benefit from our Fairer Share Payments.
“Some members have received £300 in Fairer Share Payments since 2023.
“It’s our intention to make a payment every year, but this will depend on how we perform financially. We may change the amount and the eligibility criteria based on that performance.”
When is Nationwide likely to announce a Fairer Share payment in 2026?
While the exact date of Nationwide’s definitive announcement regarding the payments remains uncertain, previous years provide a helpful guide. Last year, Nationwide confirmed its Fairer Share payment on May 29.
The £100 sums then landed in eligible members’ accounts between June 18 and July 4. Similarly, in 2024, the payment was announced on May 22, with funds distributed between June 13 and June 28.
In 2023, Nationwide unveiled its first ever Fairer Share payments on May 19, with the money arriving in bank accounts between 13 June and 30 June. It seems likely, therefore, that any announcement regarding 2026 will be made next month.
Should any Fairer Share payments be issued this year, the funds will likely arrive in June.
