Adorable 3-month-old puppy need new home after street attack
A tiny street puppy rescued from a terrifying ordeal is now searching for a forever home in the UK – and those who saved him believe he deserves a life far removed from the dangers he has already encountered. Barny, a three-month-old Baladi pup currently based in Egypt, has already endured more than most dogs his age.
According to his rescuer, he was discovered being set upon by larger dogs on the street, having already sustained bite wounds. “I found this little street puppy while bigger dogs were attacking him,” they explained. “He had been bitten and was still very small.”
The rescuer swiftly took him to a vet, where he received treatment for his injuries, along with parasite and worm prevention medication, and his first vaccination. Now tipping the scales at just 4kg, Barny is clean, healthy, and recovering well — though he remains somewhat timid following his traumatic experience.
Despite his remarkable progress, his rescuer is desperately seeking a safe and loving home for him, fearful of what might befall him should he be returned to the streets. “I really don’t want to return him,” they added. “He’s still so young and vulnerable. I’m hoping to find someone kind who will give him the love and safety he deserves.”
Barny has since moved from the streets to a clinic and is now housed in a shelter, yet his journey is far from over. He is available for rehoming in the UK via rescue centre Miracle’s Mission, though travel fees will apply.
Prospective adopters are being reminded that Barny won’t arrive as a tiny puppy, and will instead be an adolescent dog by the time he makes the journey – meaning he’ll require a lifelong commitment. Rescuers say they are simply hoping to spare him from the “pain, exhaustion, and hunger” that so many street dogs endure.
Responding to his rehoming post, one user wrote: “So cute.” Another user commented: “Such a sweetheart. Hope someone in the UK can take him in..”
A third user said: “What a gorgeous little boy. He needs someone to change his future and give him a safe, forever home.” One further user noted: “He looks like my Norman did at that age these dogs grow up to be so loving with people and kids he needs getting out of Egypt.”
