Man has over ‘100 fragrances’ but his ‘no1 favourite’ is £35 cologne

Cremo has introduced a fresh fragrance to its collection, already being hailed as ‘one of the best colognes’. The new scent, Italian Bergamot Eau De Toilette, is available exclusively in a 100ml bottle priced at £34.95.

This fragrance is ideally suited to the spring season, boasting a bright and invigorating scent profile. It blends notes of Italian bergamot, neroli blossom and fresh vetiver to craft a scent ‘inspired by the elegance of the Italian Riviera.’

While not an identical match, the Cremo cologne does share a comparable scent profile with YSL’s considerably pricier Le Vestiaire des Parfums Saharienne Eau de Parfum, which retails at £220 for a 75ml bottle.

Aqua Allegoria Forte Nerolia Vetiver by Guerlain similarly features the bergamot, neroli and vetiver foundation. That particular fragrance costs £105 for a 75ml bottle, making Cremo’s offering something of a steal by comparison.

While Italian Bergamot is yet to accumulate reviews on the UK website, across the pond on the US site, it boasts an impressive average rating of 4.3 out of 5 from over 220 reviews. One satisfied customer remarked: “One of the best colognes I have ever used. Light, pleasant and long-lasting without being overpowering. My new favourite”, reports the Mirror.

A further shopper commended its staying power, noting: “Very nice smelling cologne that has a scent to last all day, which is what I want in a cologne.” One fragrance enthusiast with 100 bottles in their collection insists this is their ultimate choice, writing: “I’m embarrassed to admit I have probably 100 colognes in my collection. From very expensive to ones under $30. But Cremo Italian Bergamot is my #1 favourite. Can highly recommend. So fresh and clean. Please, Cremo, always keep this one on your offerings.”

It’s said to attract compliments, with one satisfied customer noting: “Very fine fragrance, makes a great contrast with my high-end Colognes. A lot of compliments about my smell left on the pillow.”

One buyer was let down by its staying power, writing: “Great, bright scent. Longevity could be a bit better compared to other cremo scents, but it’s a good citrusy scent.”

Another appreciated it for everyday wear, but found it faded before the day was out. They said: “Cremo’s Italian Bergamot Spray Cologne has a nice, fresh citrus scent with a hint of vetiver. It’s great for everyday use, but the fragrance doesn’t last long enough for me to call it a standout.”

The brand recommends spraying a ‘small amount’ of the cologne onto pulse points from a distance of three to six inches, and specifies that clean, dry skin yields the best results. It also advises against rubbing the fragrance, as this can alter the scent.

For a more pronounced effect, they recommend reapplying throughout the day. For something subtler, they suggest it’s best to ‘spray into the air and walk through the mist’.
