Locals in Toronto, Canada have been left spooked after an explosion rocked the city. Video footage shared online in the early hours of Friday shows the aftermath of the event, which appears to have taken place near Downsview Airport, a disused military airport. Sharing another image online, one user said: “Barely caught this explosion in Toronto, made a whole Twitter account to ask what’s going on.”

A second said: “Explosion aftermath in Toronto around downsview airport.” A third added: “Did anyone see that explosion that lit up the sky in North York??? It was so bright and big that my friend thought it was a nuke.”
