A loveable dog is seeking a forever home after enduring the very worst of human behaviour.

Poor Archie, a German Shepherd mix, was rescued by a compassionate woman after being brutally attacked on the streets by a stranger.

Appalled that anyone could be so heartless, the woman brought the stricken dog into her workplace before taking him to a rescue centre.

Now in the care of Miracle’s Mission, Archie was flown to the UK from Egypt, where it is believed he stands a far greater chance of finding a new home.

A statement reads: “Zawawi (now Archie) was rescued by a kind lady after he was very badly beaten by a man in the street.

“She gave him shelter at her workplace but he cannot live there forever.

“The lady told us that because he is a large dog weighing around 30kg people were scared of him on the street and he was always subject to their violence.”

It continued: “After taking refuge in the workshop Zawawi no longer wanted to be on the streets.”

“He was frightened to go out there. He also doesn’t like the extreme heat in Egypt.

“She believes he would love a comfortable home to call his own. He is good with the street dogs.”

Now settled in the UK, Archie, aged around eight, has been welcomed by a foster family and has begun revealing his true character – a “really nice, laid back boy”.

The statement adds: “Archie is calm, loving, friendly with all dogs and yet still has a playful side.

“He is in good health and ready to find a forever home to call his own after waiting a lifetime already.

“He could live with older children, probably not very young kids- just due to his size.”

Commenting on his rehoming post on Facebook, one user said: “Archie is an absolutely stunning boy and so deserves his forever home. He just needs that special person to fall in love with him.”

Another user added: “Best wishes sweetheart.”

A third user said: “Have shared for lovely Archie.”

Founded in 2015, Miracle’s Mission has been dedicated to “provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the need for neutering both pets and strays, and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets”.

Shedding light on the origins of the charity’s name, a statement read: “Miracle was rescued from the streets of Borneo at one week old before her tiny eyes were even open.

“She was found with her siblings in a very remote area, where they were likely abandoned and very unwell.

“The puppies were full of maggots, with ringworm and blood parasites. Unfortunately, Miracle’s siblings did not make it.”

It continued: “Miracle was cared for and had a very long road to recovery ahead of her.

“She had several injuries and was very weak, but she made a miraculous recovery and is now strong, happy and healthy, living with her adopted sisters Star and Tess, who were also rescued from Borneo.

“Her aim is to help save many more animals in need around the world.

“Miracle is the namesake of our charity, and her story is similar to many others around the world.

“However, not all of these animals are as lucky as she was in finding a loving home where she is spoilt rotten.”
