Next James Bond film casting and release date plans ‘unveiled’ for Amazon reboot | Films | Entertainment

Earlier this month, Amazon MGM Studios told fans to be patient as they wait for news on the next James Bond.

The reboot’s director, Denis Villeneuve, is currently busy on post-production for Dune Part III, which hits cinemas in December.

A movie insider claims he wants a long break before tackling Bond, which he and screenwriter Steven Knight have broad ideas for.

With this in mind, the final draft isn’t expected to be delivered until at least after the summer.

In the meantime, producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are reportedly compiling their list of potential new Bonds to replace Daniel Craig.

According to The Sun’s source: “Bond won’t be back until 2028. The production mindset’s gone from ‘Let’s hurry this through’ to ‘Make sure we get this right’.”Realistically, if they can make January 2027 work for pre-production then that will be a success. The principal photography will run until the summer and the film always takes around nine months to a year to edit.” Fingers crossed we’ll have a new Bond star announced by the end of the year.
