Donald Trump has shared a chilling AI‑generated image depicting Iranian warships submerged underwater, released as his administration awaits Tehran’s response to a proposed peace plan. The image shared on Truth Social shows “159 Iranian ships.”
The first image depicts several vessels flying Iranian flags with the label “Obama/Biden” positioned above them. In the second image, those same ships appear sunken on the ocean floor, many still bearing Iranian flags, with the word “Trump” displayed above.
Mr Trump said the US is awaiting Iran’s reply to a proposal aimed at ending the conflict, telling reporters on Friday he was “supposedly” expecting a letter that night, though no follow‑up announcement has been made.
On Saturday, the US President mocked Iran’s drone threat, comparing them to “butterflies”, and posted AI-generated visuals depicting a US warship firing laser beams into the sky, triggering explosions. The caption read: “Bye Bye, Drones.”
Donald Trump unleashed a rapid burst of activity on Truth Social yesterday, posting 16 times in just an hour and a half, sharing AI‑generated images that depicted ships sinking in Iran alongside mock‑ups of imagined renovations in Washington.
Other posts showed AI mockups of a UFC fighting stage on the White House lawn.
Meanwhile, Iran has warned it may tighten control over the Strait of Hormuz, cautioning that ships from countries enforcing US sanctions against Tehran could “face difficulties” when attempting to pass through the strategic waterway.
Lawmakers say they are preparing legislation to formalise Iran’s authority over the strait, including provisions that would bar vessels from what they describe as “hostile states.”
The tensions follow earlier threats from Tehran of a “heavy assault” on US assets in the Middle East if attacks on ships continue, while President Donald Trump has said he expects to hear “very soon” from Iranian officials regarding a potential ceasefire agreement.
