Sainsbury’s Nectar card shoppers handed £10 savings in new deal | Personal Finance | Finance
Nectar Card shoppers are being given new £10 rewards by Sainsbury’s as the supermarket announces a new partnership. Sainsbury’s is among the UK supermarkets to reward customers for their loyalty, with lower prices on products as well as discounts with external partners. After its latest Nectar Card move, Sainsbury’s customers can now spend their loyalty points on Merlin Entertainment’s attractions.
As part of this, shoppers can double the value of their Nectar points by swapping £5 worth of Nectar points for £10 off Merlin attractions. Merlin operates more than 20 attractions in the country, including some of the UK’s most famous, such as the London Eye. It also operates Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park, Legoland, Warwick Castle and Cadbury World, as well as multiple Dungeons and Sea Life sites around the country.
Mark Given, Sainsbury’s Chief Technology, Marketing and Data Officer, said: “We know our Nectar members want great value and real rewards. That’s why our partnership with Merlin matters. It’s all about giving families fun days out for less and making every point count towards something special.”
Stan Swinton, Merlin’s Chief Growth Officer, added: “With Nectar, we are able to offer even better access to days out and holidays for families across the UK. This partnership is another step in realising our ambition of providing affordable attractions that bring families close together through play.
“With Bluey the Ride: Here Come The Grannies at Alton Towers and World of PAW Patrol at Chessington World of Adventures, now is the best time for Nectar customers to enjoy the benefits of Merlin attractions and even more Nectar points.”
To spend their Nectar points on Merlin attractions, shoppers simply have to open the Nectar Card app, select the Merlin offer and book their day out through the Merlin x Nectar website.
Amir Rasekh, Nectar360’s Managing Director, said: “Making it easy for customers to spend their points is really important. By stripping out unnecessary steps, we’ve created a faster, more intuitive redemption experience in partnership with Merlin – one that’s much better for our Nectar members.”
As well as the new partnership with Merlin, Sainsbury’s shoppers can use their Nectar points for purchases made at Argos, British Airways and Esso.
