Urgent recalls for Ikea item, baby monitor and teddy bear — full list
In the majority of cases, officials have urged anyone in possession of the products to stop using them “immediately”. Amongst those being recalled this week are a popular Build-A-Bear toy, an Ikea item and a baby monitor. Customers affected by recall notices have been told to contact the retailers for a refund.
Build-A-Bear toy
The Heartwarming Hugs Bear 2 with Zipper Closure has been issued a recall notice this week due to a choking hazard. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has warned anyone with the bear to “stop using immediately”.
The recalled item is described as a brown weighted plush bear featuring a zipped pouch containing a heart filled with ceramic beads. The beads can be heated or cooled. It was available for purchase between January 21 and March 6 this year and has a model number of 434464.
The OPSS said: “The product presents a risk of choking as it has been identified that the zipper on the bear’s pouch can detach, creating a small part.”

Ikea garlic press
The well-known furniture retailer has recalled its garlic press amid concerns that small metal fragments could break off into food and be swallowed. The recall impacts specific batches of the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL Garlic press in black following the discovery of a manufacturing defect during an internal investigation by the company.
The affected garlic presses were sold worldwide, both in store and online, and have the article number 601.636.02. They can also be identified through date stamps found on the product, ranging from 2411 up to 2522.
Customers who have one of the recalled items have been advised to stop using it immediately and contact Ikea for a full refund.
Baby monitor
A product recall notice has been issued for the Babysense Max View Wireless Digital Video Baby Monitor due to a fire risk. Customers have been advised to stop using immediately following the recall by Hisense.
The OPSS said: “The parent unit of this product presents a risk of fire as the battery within the unit (model reference YC6048115P) may overheat during charging. Such overheating may escalate into thermal runaway. The product has been recalled from customers by Hisense.
“Anyone with this product should stop using the product immediately. To determine if your product is affected and to register for a replacement Parent Unit, please visit: https://support.recallsecure.com/en-gb
“Only serial numbers beginning with ‘MVRX’ are affected. The serial number can be located on the back of the parent unit (i.e. the video monitor display unit/screen) – see Annex A in the recall notice. Other models and ASINs are out of this recall scope. The listings have been removed by the online marketplaces (Amazon).”
