Liverpool news with Enrique favourite to replace Slot after concerning update | Football | Sport

Ever since, demands for the Dutch manager’s dismissal have grown to a deafening crescendo. While Slot was reported to have the support of Fenway Sports Group, the club’s owners, rumours of unrest in the Liverpool boardroom over the manager’s future have been swirling since Friday’s loss. Express Sport brings you the latest Liverpool news below…

According to TEAMtalk, not everybody behind the scenes at Liverpool is ‘aligned behind the idea that Slot should definitely stay’. The update follows Salah’s incendiary post on Saturday, which took aim at Liverpool’s form this season.

Journalist Graeme Bailey reports that the ownership recognise they are in a ‘very concerning situations’ and insiders understand why Salah voiced his frustrations.

The report further claims Liverpool have compiled a shortlist of potential replacements for Slot.

This reportedly features Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness, Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann, Al-Ahli’s German coach Matthias Jaissle and outgoing Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.

Luis Enrique the favourite

Should the bookmakers’ latest odds be taken into account, the Reds’ shortlist could be about to gain another contender: Luis Enrique.

The Paris Saint-Germain boss is preparing for his side’s second successive Champions League final, which is due to take place at the end of the month against Arsenal.

The two-time Champions League winner claimed two titles at Barcelona, the European Cup and a wealth of domestic honours. He has secured three Ligue 1 titles with Paris, along with the Champions League and two Coupe de France, among others.

However, one significant obstacle is the speculation that the 56-year-old Spaniard is reportedly keen on prolonging his tenure at the Parc de Princes until 2030.

With Slot still occupying the Liverpool hot seat, such rumours remain pure conjecture, yet bookmakers appear convinced that the world-class manager could be the frontrunner for the role should the Anfield club require a new man at the helm.

According to Sky Bet, the cueeent odds on the next Liverpool boss are as follows…
