The Batman 2 – Marvel star confirms his casting as iconic Dark Knight villain | Films | Entertainment

It’s been four years since Matt Reeves directed Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne in The Batman. Now a sequel is finally on the way and set to shoot in the UK this summer. Joining the returning cast, which includes Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis’ Alfred and Colin Farrell’s Penguin, are a couple of big Marvel stars. Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson have been cast in The Batman: Part II and their roles have now been revealed.

Speaking with Deadline, Stan confirmed the rumours were true that he’s playing Harvey Dent, Gotham’s district attorney, who turns into Two-Face after having half his face scarred with acid by mob boss Sal Maroni. The Bucky Barnes actor follows Tommy Lee Jones (Batman Forever), Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Harry Lawtey (Joker: Folie à Deux) in the villainous role.

Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson plays his wife Gilda, who becomes the serial killer Holiday in the comics, and Charles Dance portrays his father. Stan said he’ll be playing “many roles in this one” as Two-Face, adding “I’m excited, I’m nervous and trying to keep surprising myself.”

The Batman: Part II hits cinemas on October 1, 2027.
