Arsenal continue to be linked with some blockbuster summer signings as they gear up for a titanic showdown against Paris Saint-Germain. The Gunners face the French giants in the Champions League final on Saturday evening, chasing their first-ever triumph in the competition.
Mikel Arteta’s side lifted the Premier League trophy last weekend after edging past Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park. Supporters flooded the streets in celebration of the north London club’s first league title in 22 years. Now, however, Arteta’s attention turns to toppling Luis Enrique’s side in Budapest in a clash between the French and English champions.
The Gunners boss is “fully convinced” his squad can complete the double, declaring: “We have the opportunity to create new history in our club.
“I am convinced we are going to do it. We need this [celebratory] energy to flow and going against that, I think it will be a big mistake. We talked about already what we have to do in Budapest, how we’re going to use all the incredible energy that we’re all carrying towards that final, and tomorrow we’re going to start to prepare it.

“I said to the boys that this shirt now represents something else. We are the champions, and that brings a lot of confidence and a different kind of presence and energy to it. But as well, another kind of responsibility as well. My job now and everybody at the club is going to be lift those standards now and achieve much more, because I think we are capable of doing it.”
Here, Express Sport rounds up the latest emerging from the red half of north London.
Julian Alvarez doubts emerge
Marcos Llorente has cast doubt over Julian Alvarez’s future at Atletico Madrid beyond this season. This development would strengthen Arsenal‘s prospects of securing the former Manchester City forward in a summer move.
The 26-year-old has drawn attention from the Gunners, PSG, and Barcelona. Alvarez’s team-mate Llorente revealed to El Partidazo de COPE that he remains unclear about the Argentina international’s intentions moving forward.
The midfielder confessed he doesn’t know what Alvarez’s decision will be and “neither does he, as things stand today.” Llorente continued: “I don’t ask him. He seems fine to me, but maybe he wants to leave and we don’t know.”
Spanish outlet Cadena SER reports the former City striker has indicated a wish to depart Spain, which may prompt Arsenal to launch an approach. It is believed that a transfer fee reaching £90million could be required for the forward, who has netted 49 goals across two campaigns for Madrid.

Morgan Rogers interest intensifies
Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, though securing his signature will prove both costly and competitive. TalkSPORT claim that Arteta is firming up his interest in the Europa League hero during the summer transfer window.

It is understood that preliminary discussions have already taken place between the two clubs, with Villa holding out for a minimum of £80m for Rogers. However, the Gunners appear set to face stiff competition, with Manchester United also firmly in the running.
Chelsea and PSG have likewise registered their interest in the 23-year-old, who contributed 14 goals and 12 assists for Villa throughout the campaign. It is believed that Rogers is eager to remain focused on the World Cup this summer and will turn his attention to his club future once the tournament concludes.
