Eight US soldiers injured and one fighting for life after military truck crash in Poland | World | News

Eight US servicemembers have been injured in a crash involving a military vehicle en route to a training ground near Drawsko Pomorskie, Poland, on Thursday.

The incident occurred as the troops were travelling to the Drawsko Pomorskie training area, according to Polish outlet RMF24, which reported that their vehicle ended up overturned at the side of the road.

“One person in serious condition was transported by air ambulance helicopter to a hospital in Gryfice,” a press officer for the Military Police in Szczecin reported.

The soldiers were being transported for training, riding in the back of the truck, on benches. The vehicle’s right wheel clipped the shoulder and overturned , he added. Five emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Several others were said to have been taken to a hospital and are in stable condition. A spokesperson for V Corps confirmed that a traffic accident occurred involving US soldiers near Glebokie, Poland on Thursday morning.

“Several Soldiers were transported to multiple hospitals in the area. We will provide more information as we have it,” the spokesperson added.

The crash is being investigated by the authorities.
