Kuwait comes under heavy missile fire as Trump-Iran ceasefire on brink | World | News
Kuwait has come under heavy missile fire from Iran as the Middle East moves closer to a new war.
The Kuwaiti military posted on X: “Kuwaiti air defenses are currently repelling missile and drone attacks.”
“The General Staff of the Army notes that if explosion sounds are heard, they are the result of air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks.”
“Everyone is asked to comply with the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.”
The missile fire comes amid a fragile short-term ceasefire between the US and Iran.
The US and Israel carried out joint strikes on several key Iranian sites on February 28.
Iran retaliated by striking sites across the Middle East and closing the critical Strait of Hormuz trade route.
Iran and the US have been in back-and-forth negotiations in an effort to resolve the conflict, but have failed to reach a long-term peace deal as the region waits on tender hooks.
