NatWest and RBS closing nine more branches – full list of locations and dates | Personal Finance | Finance

The banking giant operates NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank, and disclosed the closures in a statement impacting all customers on Friday. In making the announcement, it stated this marked the conclusion of its current programme of network alterations and the start of “fresh long-term investment in its UK presence and dedication to face-to-face banking”.

Solange Chamberlain, CEO, Retail Banking, NatWest Group said: “This is an important moment for our customers and the communities we serve. We are investing to offer customers a seamless mix of ways to bank with us, including over the phone, digitally, or via our free to use ATM network – while continuing to support those who prefer face-to-face banking in branches and community banking hubs.

“We will not announce any further branch closures until at least 2029 and are expanding more flexible and accessible ways to bank, with enhanced support to help customers act with confidence and achieve their financial goals. We understand the impact these changes can have for our colleagues and customers, and we will engage personally with all those affected by today’s closure announcement.”

NatWest stated it is expanding beyond traditional branches, providing face-to-face banking in more flexible and convenient formats. It said its mobile branch network now reaches 577 communities throughout the UK every week, with teams travelling 14,000 miles across the country and assisting more than 144,000 customers in 2025.

It said it had “reinvented community banking” through adaptable, modern formats including pop-up sites in retail parks, shopping centres and at university events. It added that Community Bankers in hubs provide “localised, in-person support wherever customers need it most with these services specifically designed to ensure continued access to banking, particularly in rural, remote and underserved areas
