Japan’s Mozo Wonder City: People ‘suffer eye and throat pain’ as police swarm area | World | News
Emergency services have swarmed a shopping centre in Japan on Monday after reports of people experiencing eye and throat pain.
Police reported that at around 5:30 p.m., a security guard at the commercial complex “Mozo Wonder City” in Nishi Ward, Nagoya City, called emergency services, stating that multiple people were experiencing eye irritation and coughing. Investigators report that several individuals have complained of irritation in their eyes and throats, while the facility also noted that someone was coughing inside an arcade area on the fourth floor.
Police confirmed that, so far, no one has been transported to hospital. Authorities, including police and firefighters, are continuing to examine the situation to determine the cause and assess any potential risks.
The site refers to a large shopping and entertainment complex situated about 500 meters from Kami-Otai Station, making it easily accessible by public transport.
It includes a variety of facilities such as a cinema, restaurants, retail stores, and other businesses, meaning it serves as a busy hub where many people gather for shopping, dining, and leisure activities.
