Anthony Joshua makes his long-awaited return to the ring this weekend when he squares off against Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia. The former two-time unified heavyweight champion will face the Albanian at the Jeddah Superdome, with fans able to order the fight now.
The headline bout of ‘The Comeback’ will mark Joshua’s first appearance since sustaining injuries in a car accident in December that claimed the lives of two of his close friends. This tragedy occurred just 10 days after his contentious clash with American Jake Paul in Miami, which concluded after the Olympian shattered the former YouTuber-turned-boxer’s jaw, reports Wales Online.
Saturday’s contest will also be the first since Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) joined forces with Oleksandr Usyk’s team, who guided the Ukrainian to two victories over the Briton. While he remains the overwhelming favourite to see off Prenga (20-1, 20 KOs), Joshua has conceded that getting the job done could prove ‘hard work’.
Speaking to The Ring, he said: “I know what’s expected of me. I’m settled in that way, but definitely not settled with the amount of hard work that comes my way.

Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga will take place on Saturday, July 25. The live broadcast is scheduled to start at 6pm UK time, with the Joshua and Prenga ringwalks expected at 11pm.
