Yan Diomande to Liverpool transfer update as ‘verbal agreement reached | Football | Sport
Yan Diomande is reportedly on the verge of joining Real Madrid, which would put a definitive end to Liverpool’s pursuit of the winger. Diomande had emerged as a potential option for the Reds, who are in the market for a Mohamed Salah replacement.
However, the Merseyside club have already been forced to look elsewhere, given Real Madrid are close to securing the Ivorian’s signature. Diomande enjoyed a stellar season with RB Leipzig last time out, and despite the Bundesliga outfit’s best efforts to keep hold of him, looks set to join Real Madrid as part of a big-money transfer.
TalkSPORT claim that Diomande’s transfer is now edging closer, given a verbal agreement has been finalised on a transfer fee. It just requires finalisation from the RB Leipzig board, but that’s expected to go through without any problems.
As such, Diomande will be free to join the La Liga outfit, while bringing an end to speculation regarding his future. As far as Liverpool are concerned, their attention appears to have turned to Bradley Barcola, who will be allowed to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, should a suitable offer arrive.
Barcola played 49 times for PSG last season, scoring 13 goals and registering a further seven assists. However, PSG are said to be demanding a fee in the region of £130million, which is way more than Liverpool are willing to pay.
It’s reported that there would be room in the Liverpool squad for both Barcola and Mbaye, with the former viewed as a signing for the future. Mbaye is believed to be open to a move, with Liverpool having caught the youngster’s eye.
Elsewhere, a third PSG star is being linked with an Anfield switch, as Illia Zabarnyi has emerged as a potential option. The defender moved from Bournemouth last summer, but didn’t play too many meaningful minutes, with suggestions Liverpool could look at him to fix their centre-back problem.
