ACOTAR fans ‘suss out’ when Sarah J Maas will announce next book | Books | Entertainment
Fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses were left feeling underwhelmed when the series’ 10th anniversary passed without any news of a new book. In anticipation of the anniversary, enthusiasts had speculated that the decade mark would bring an announcement for the next instalment, but their hopes were dashed.
Yet, this hasn’t dampened the spirits of readers who are now convinced that a new book announcement is imminent, with some predicting it will come at the end of the month. On Reddit, one confident fan posted: “I’ve never felt so confident in my life that we are getting an announcement on the 21st.” Their reasoning? The large ACOTAR book displays cropping up in American bookstores all seem to be set to chapter 21.
They also noted that such announcements often fall on Wednesdays, which aligns with May 21. This date is conveniently one day after Bloomsbury’s upcoming trade meeting.
The theory was further bolstered by Sarah J Maas’s Spotify wrapped video, which fans believe hinted at May 21, writing: “5/21 is international tea day. SJM being a TS fan many speculate the Spotify wrapped video where she ‘spilled the tea is another hint.”
Fans of the popular ACOTAR series are abuzz with anticipation, speculating when the next instalment will be announced and who it will spotlight, with many fingers pointing towards Elain, sister to previous leads Feyre and Nesta.
The ACOTAR display at Waterstones Liverpool has sent fans into a frenzy, with some believing it’s a subtle nod to Elain’s story. Bloomsbury’s TikTok clip of the display has sparked a flurry of fan theories.
One eager fan commented: “Without Hope We Can Not Endure- on the floor, closed ivy on the walls, blossoms – looks like hints of Elain!”
Another observed: “Truth teller on the top left and the flower on the top right of the arch (ACOWAR and ACOFAS cover symbols)…very interesting,” hinting at a connection to Elain and possibly her dynamic with Azriel.
A third excitedly declared: “ELRIEL IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER GUYS.”
