Alexander Isak agent fires shot at Newcastle after Liverpool transfer | Football | Sport
Newcastle United received a parting shot from Alexander Isak’s representative after his record-breaking £125million switch to Liverpool. In the wake of his transfer from St James’ Park to Anfield, agent Vlado Lemic found himself in high demand, but when talkSPORT host Jim White invited the Croatian to discuss the controversial tactics behind Isak’s blockbuster move, he remarked: “It’s nice when you have someone to be with, but it’s even nicer when you know who you’ll never be with again.”
Whilst Isak failed to acknowledge Newcastle or express gratitude to anyone at St James’ Park, his Universal Twenty Two agency published two Instagram posts. The first was captioned: “Unforgetable in black and white, unstoppable in what’s next.” This featured a video montage highlighting Isak’s finest strikes and memories for United, including lifting the Carabao Cup.
The second comprised a slideshow of Isak’s accomplishments titled: “The Newcastle chapter.”
This highlighted milestones including becoming the quickest player to net 50 Premier League goals, an eight-match scoring run, five straight away fixtures finding the net, and his selection in the PFA Team of the Year.
Shortly following his departure, Newcastle issued this statement yesterday evening: “Newcastle United can announce the sale of striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a significant British record transfer fee.
“The Sweden international joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022 and made 109 appearances in all competitions.”

Isak had his own say on the matter, explaining his motivation for the move: “It’s a mixture of what the club is building, but what they’re building on top of what the club already is. The history of the club.
“Me getting the chance to be a part of this, I want to create history. I want to win trophies.
“That’s ultimately the biggest motivation for me and I feel like this is the perfect place for me to grow even further and to take my game to the next level and help the team as well.
“I feel like this is the next step for me in my career. I’m super-happy that I’ve been given this chance and I’m very motivated to do something well with it.”
Meanwhile, Isak’s former team-mate Anthony Gordon has offered his best wishes to the Swede despite his unsavoury departure.
“Regardless of the situation and what’s gone on, it’s been a pleasure to play with you,” Gordon wrote on Instagram. One of the best chemistries I’ve had on the pitch and more importantly a great person and teammate. I wish you nothing but the best brother.”
