Arsenal ‘agree unique double transfer’ with Gunners signing their own Ronaldinho | Football | Sport

Arsenal have been informed they are securing ‘two Ronaldinhos’ with the imminent arrival of Edwin and Holger Quintero. The twin brothers, 16, are set to join the Gunners from Independiente del Valle, according to football.london. Those in power at the Emirates Stadium are moving swiftly to secure their signatures ahead of several European heavyweights, including Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Sevilla.

In conversation with Ecuadorian publication El Comercio, Burbano, the brothers’ former coach, suggested they possess the potential to reach the pinnacle of the game, drawing comparisons to a legendary Brazilian maestro. He said: “People pay to see good football. They’re going to give you spectacular plays. They’re like Ronaldinho. Juggling, step-overs, whatever you can imagine, but they have to know when; first think about the team and then about that.”

Burbano also believes mastering English before their permanent relocation to the capital would prove advantageous for the siblings.

The twins are not anticipated to arrive in London until August 2027, and will remain at Independiente del Valle in Ecuador to continue their progression in the interim.

Burbano added: “Europe is getting two gems with unique natural abilities, but if they nurture their mental, psychological, and educational development, they will also be a sensation and bring us much joy.

“Why not consider that they could pursue a short degree? Why not start learning English now? Going to Europe at 18 with fluent English would be spectacular.”

Independiente del Valle has a strong reputation for developing elite young Ecuadorian talent.

The likes of Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo, Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie, Club Brugge’s Joel Ordonez and PSG’s Willian Pacho all emerged from their academy.

There is increasing focus amongst Premier League clubs on securing deals for young South American talents, though they cannot arrive until their 18th birthday due to post-Brexit regulations.

Chelsea’s agreement to sign Estevao from Palmeiras has prompted clubs to explore the South American market more actively.

With Arsenal’s squad arguably at its strongest point, the club is well-positioned to continue recruiting young prospects with significant potential.

The Gunners have already completed the signing of 16 year old Republic of Ireland U17 international midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna, who will join the club in January 2027 from Shamrock Rovers.
