As a travel writer this is the cheapest I’ve seen an Antler cabin case
British heritage brand Antler has successfully bridged the gap between budget-friendly and aspirational by offering a thoughtfully designed collection that combines style with performance. While there are lots of practical and fashionable luggage options out there, few strike the perfect balance of form, function and affordability as effortlessly as Antler does.
As part of the brand’s newly launched sale, savvy travellers can snap up high-end suitcases and carry-ons with as much as 50% off RRP. One particularly eye-catching buy is the Soft Stripe Underseat Cabin Case available in black, blue or green. Originally on sale for £130, the surprisingly spacious case is now just £65 – arguably one of the lowest prices I’ve ever seen.
The underseat cabin case is a compact and efficient choice for frequent travellers. Designed to fit neatly under most airline seats, it offers just the right amount of space for overnight stays or short weekend trips and also comes with a very handy double layered front pocket that’s perfect for laptops and tablets.
Measuring 45 x 35 x 20 cms, it is the perfect fit for passengers flying with easyJet, as well as Jet2, British Airways and more. The Antler carry on is too big for both the current Ryanair restrictions of 40 × 25 × 20 cm and the upcoming increase to 40 × 30 × 20 cm, but it is suitable for flyers who upgrade to Priority & 2 Cabin Bag fares.
Part of the Soft Stripe range, the case is made from fully recycled, ultra-lightweight polyester. Despite its slim profile it has a sturdy structure that helps protect treasured belongings in transit.
Packed with practicality, it also features a double-layered front pocket for quick access to essentials, an adjustable four-stage handle and smooth-gliding inline wheels.
Of course, fancy outfits, a full make-up kit and several pairs of high heels are never going to fit in a cabin case, so for those needing more room, the larger Soft Stripe Medium Case offers additional space with the same thoughtful design, now reduced from £220 to £132.
Despite being an absolute steal at £65, the Antler Underseat might not be for everyone. Similarly lauded alternatives include the Samsonite Litebeam which is currenty reduced at Amazon, with prices starting from £88.50.
Elsewhere, the Beis Mini Roller is a compact cabin case that is loved by discerning travellers. Priced at £193 it’s an investment piece for sure, but buyers have called it the ‘perfect size’ and ‘bigger on the inside’.
Another good choice would be the Nere Stori Cabin case. Available in a range of funky colours, the Stori range has been given a 4.7 out of five-star rating by shoppers and is now available with up to 40% off on selected items.
Shoppers who have already snapped up the Soft Stripe Underseat in Antler Green have given it an impressive 4.8 out of five-star rating. One buyer said: “Very pleased with this little suitcase. Perfect size for under the seat on EasyJet and ideal for overnight stays. Should last a good number of years. Especially like the laptop compartment.”
Another added: “Beautifully made small under seat case which was perfect for my carry on luggage. Easy to pull around and the storage compartments are just perfect for everything I needed. So pleased that I bought this.”
Another was impressed by the handle, saying: “I tried an alternative brand recently, to use as an under-seat bag, but the adjustable handle broke after a single use. This bag is much better quality. As an added (unforeseen) bonus the adjustable handle is longer than on my previous case. I will no longer have to slightly stoop over when pulling it through the airport.”
While almost every review was positive, one flyer did notice a potential downfall, saying: “Well made and ideal for cabin…Only one issue, when moving the zips around the corner of the bag, you sometimes have to manoeuvre carefully or it stops moving.”
Like most pieces from the on-trend lugagge brand, shoppers found it hard to find fault. Another delighted buyer left a five-star review that said: “After lugging heavy bags around with me for years, this under seat case has been a game changer! Fits perfectly under seats (even budget airlines), looks great and has really helpful compartments. 10/10.”
