Awkward moment Mark Carney humiliates Trump by savagely cutting him of at G7 | World | News

Donald Trump was awkwardly interrupted by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a press conference at the G7 summit, hosted by Canada. In a video clip, Trump can be heard demanding that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement increase deportations in Democrat-run cities before being abruptly cut off.

When a journalist asked which specific city he intended to target, the US president responded: “All Democrat-run cities.” He added: “And they think they are going to use [illegal immigrants] to vote. It’s not gonna happen.” Mr Carney then intervened, declaring the press briefing over. He said: “That’s it, thank you. If you don’t mind, I’m just exercising my role, if you will, as G7 chair.”

“We have a few minutes with the president and his team and then we actually have to start the meeting to address some of these pressing issues.”

The media was subsequently ushered out of the room while Mr Trump made a peculiar gesture with his right hand, waving his fingers.

Mr Trump has had a rocky relationship with Mr Carney since he took office in March, notably after calling for Canada to become the 51st US state. The Republican claimed Canada “very much wants” join America.

He wrote on Truth Social: “I told Canada, which very much wants to be part of our fabulous Golden Dome System, that it will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation, but will cost ZERO DOLLARS if they become our cherished 51st State. They are considering the offer!”

These latest comments come as the US president doubled down this weekend on his aggressive immigration policy, promising to ramp up ICE raids in Democratic cities, calling for the “single largest Mass Deportation Program in History”.

In a TruthSocial post, Mr Trump thanked ICE agents for their “incredible strength, determination”, telling the agency to focus its efforts on cities he considers to be the “Democrat Power Center”.

He added: “In order to achieve this, we must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside.

“These, and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good-paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens.”

White House deputy chief of staff, Stephen Miller, said US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were going to hike their number of arrests to 3,000 a day, compared to about 650 a day during the first five months of his presidency.
