BBC commentator slams Canadian Curling team’s comment vs Team GB | Other | Sport
When both teams went to a break during the contest on Tuesday, the Canadians could be heard swearing amongst each other while TV cameras were just feet away, prompting tuts and frustration from Cram and co-commentator Logan Gray.
After one member of the Canadian team was heard saying “every f***ing time* after they secured a point, Cram said: “Excuse me” with an exhale of annoyance. Cram, who also has a history of commentating on athletics, added: “They have to have a word with these Canadians.” Gray then replied: “Potty mouths.”
At the time, Canada had just taken a 3-1 lead after the third end. It was a vital throw, as Mouat’s team had two scoring stones, but Jacobs’ side made use of the hammer by drawing in a point.

While not on television or within the ear shot of microphones, Mouat’s team would have been the ones cursing after their loss to Canada. He led Team GB to the Olympic silver medal in the 2022 Games, but is now in danger of not reaching the last-four.
Before their loss to Canada, Team GB suffered a close 8-6 defeat to Norway in their last match. To wrap up a place in the semi-final, Britain needed to beat Jacobs’ side and then secure a triumph over the USA, who they face tomorrow afternoon.
Now their hopes of reaching the semi-final rely on beating the USA and then hoping other results go their way. Britain have scured five victories in Milan and Cortina but that may not be enough for them to get through.
