Best-selling anti ageing serum that ‘tightens skin instantly’ on sale

A best-selling skincare serum for tackling anti-ageing concerns has been reduced on Amazon. Prai’s 24K Gold Concentrate Retinol+ is on offer for £39.99 down from £31.99 – a saving of £8.

As the name suggests, the retinol serum contains 24K gold extracts to brighten and add a glow to the skin. The product targets wrinkles and helps to reduce fine lines on your face.

It has been specially formulated to be effective on mature skin ‘in one week’, Prai claims. The product is for a nighttime skincare routine and can be used alone or layered underneath a moisturiser.

It also comes with glowing customer reviews, one customer said: “Light texture and genuinely lessening the lines around my mouth.”

A second commented: “Removes fine lines and blemishes. You can’t go in the sun with it on. So use it overnight.”

A third shopper added: “This product feels luxurious to use. It can be used under night cream (which I do). I like to apply it and let it sink in a bit before applying a rich night cream.

“It feels rich and moisturising on my skin and smells lovely. It lasts longer than I expected too.”

A fourth concluded: “This comes in a gold cardboard box and inside is a gold push pump cylindrical container. The serum is a cloudy colour and has a lovely slightly fruity/floral aroma.

“You need just a small amount – one push of the pump – to apply to all your face and neck. It spreads easily and is also absorbed quickly. It feels like it is tightening my skin instantly and the skin feels smooth and not greasy or sticky.

“You can then apply your usual moisturiser. This serum contains real gold which protects collagen and reduces any redness of your skin.

“This serum also has retinol which is known to help with anti-aging. This is not tested on animals, certified by Leaping Bunny, and what’s more, a percentage of every sale goes to support animal charities.”

Not all shoppers were happy, with one listing a number of reasons they didn’t like it. They wrote: “This says it’s filled with great ingredients including hyaluronic acid and retinol – great for hydration, plumping, and anti-aging – but this product is not for me, regardless of the ingredients, and especially not for the high price.

“CONS: – 1. Too expensive when you can get serums from very highly-rated skincare brands for cheaper. 2. The 24k gold ingredient (I assume) leaves this sparkly, gold glitter on your skin which reminds me of a pre-teens make up kit and is so tacky, and honestly I can’t imagine it’s great for your skin – it makes me question whether this is legit or not honestly as any great skincare products I’ve had, have not had glitter in them…

“3. The packaging is awful. Broke the first time I opened it and now struggles to pump the product out. 4. The product is not a serum but not a cream?! Kind of like a hybrid mixture which I don’t like AND I found you need a lot to actually be able to spread it around the face – at least several pumps and quite a bit of product meaning this would run out quickly.

“I have tried other things from this brand and found them to be good, and the actual product might be okay – as I said the ingredients are great – but it’s not for me. I’ve tried a lot of serums in my time and as such I won’t waste my time on one I just don’t like. Each to their own though.”

Elsewhere, another best-selling retinol product is this La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum from Boots, on offer for £38.40. Designed to target fine lines and wrinkles, it contains Vitamin B3 – a smoothing agent that helps keep skin soft, plump and supple.

Meanwhile, this No7 Future Renew duo set comes with a serum and an SPF50. When you buy the two products as a bundle, you can make a £20 saving.

The bundle will set you back £38.95 whereas if you bought them separately it would cost £59.90.
