Boots to shut more than 100 pharmacies for good in weeks – full list

The health and beauty chain has already closed hundreds of branches across the UK including several in London, Essex and Birmingham.

Now hundreds more Boots branches will follow as part of ongoing closures that have spanned more than a year. In June 2023, it announced a strategy to close 650 of its UK outlets.

Since then, a whopping 581 Boots stores have said their final goodbyes as part of plans to save a whopping £618million.

Branches in almost every UK region are expected to be affected by upcoming closures, which Boots UK stated are part of the previously announced plans and do not indicate additional pharmacy closures.

Express.co.uk has rounded up the list of pharmacies earmarked to shut down that could cease trading by summer’s end.

The brand has reassured shoppers that all the planned closures have alternative Boots within three miles and that all staff members in closing branches will be offered jobs elsewhere.

Boots also said that the closures concern efforts to “consolidate a number of stores in close proximity to each other”.

In a quarterly results announcement last month, Boots said: “Evolving the store estate in this way allows Boots to concentrate its team members where they are needed and focus investment more acutely in individual stores with the ambition of consistently delivering an excellent and reliable service in a fresh and up-to-date environment.”
