Brit, 25, missing in Sardinia as mum says he ‘undressed everything’ | World | News
Police are hunting for Michael
A 25-year-old Brit has mysteriously vanished in Sardinia, with no sightings or contact for the past three days.
In a heart-wrenching Facebook plea, the man’s mother, described her son, who she named only as Michael, as “thin” and potentially disoriented, revealing he had “undressed everything” when he stripped off his clothes and was last seen disappearing into the rural landscape at 5.18pm on Saturday. Based in England, she is urgently planning to travel to the Mediterranean island in Italy, to aid in the search.
Cristina Pittalis, the distraught mother, referred to her son as a “sweet boy” and implored locals to scour their properties and assist in the search efforts, cautioning them not to do so alone.
She urged: “Michael still hasn’t been found. The search has begun. Firefighters and Forest Guard are doing their best to find him. He is a very sweet boy, you can approach him without fear, please, if you see him stop him, talk to him, but don’t leave him alone. I saw it please.”

“Tell them about mommy and her baby brother. The police are looking for him but the area is too wide. Please, if you can, look in your lands, in your homes. If you get a chance, please go and help with the research.”, reports the Mirror.
“But don’t go alone, blindly, talk to fire groups, or civil protection, offer your support, ask what and how you can help. They know how to move, and how to coordinate the research groups Please, we need your help.”
The mother revealed: “My son Michael disappeared in the countryside near Luogosanto, Valdicorru. Yesterday, Saturday, July 13, at 5.18 pm he undressed everything and disappeared. He’s 5’7 tall, brown, long hair, shaved sides. Beach pic was taken last week, so very current.”

“He is confusing, very thin from the photos. Mother speaks English, but speaks Italian very well. I live in England and I am planning to get to Sardinia as soon as possible, but I need your help now. Police were contacted at 1pm today, and they are certainly stepping up the search, but your help is crucial.”
Reportedly, Michael left his residence in Sardinia after undressing, his mum alleges, and was last seen near Luogosanto. Firefighters and local Forest Guard police have initiated a substantial search.
Michael’s mum is worried
Michael fits the description of a thin man, standing 5ft 7in tall, with lengthy, brown locks.
Eye-witnesses claimed that Michael was spotted early Monday morning close to a local bar, Bar Florin, in neighbouring Arzachena.
Simultaneously, two other individuals were reported missing in northern Sardinia throughout the weekend, according to La Repubblica. A senior-lady named Carla Visentin vanished in the nearby area of Stintino in Cala Lupo on Sunday.
It’s understood she has mobility complications which threaten her movement efficiency.

Further to this, an 82 year old holidaying Italian lady seemed to disappear while in Valledoria. However, she was later found residing at an old friends house.
Police have confirmed they are engaged in a relentless search for two individuals who are still missing.
In a shocking development, a body believed to be that of the missing 19 year old Jay Slater has been discovered just a 20-minute walk from where his phone last pinged, as reported by the Mirror.
Mountain rescue experts this morning airlifted a body from a steep ravine near Masca village in Tenerife, navigating through perilous and hazardous terrain. Although there has been no official confirmation, a spokesperson for Lancashire police stated “the indications are that this is Jay Slater” after liaising with the Spanish Guardia Civil.
Search for Jay Slater in Tenerife mapped
Investigative journalist and former police officer Mark Williams-Thomas, who has been assisting the family in Tenerife in their search for Jay, informed the Mirror that the body was found near where his phone last pinged on June 17. “The area where Jay’s body was found was highlighted yesterday afternoon with the search and rescue helicopter in the area, it is around a 20 minutes walk from the pin drop location,” Mr Williams-Thomas revealed.
Mr Williams-Thomas announced on his Twitter account at approximately 1pm today: “Human remains found and all indications are that it is Jay Slater. The first investigations reveal that he could have suffered an accident in the inaccessible area. Family have been updated and formal identification will follow.”
Search dogs were drafted in to search the Tenerife area
A spokesman for the Civil Guard declared today: “After 29 constant days of searching the lifeless body of the young man has been found in the Masca area. The discovery has been possible thanks to the tireless and discreet search carried out by the Civil Guard over these 29 days.”
“Everything is pointing to the body being that of the young British man who disappeared on June 17, pending full identification. Initial inquiries are pointing to him having suffered an accident/fall in the area where he was found.”
