Manchester City loanee Divin Mubama was stretchered off and taken to hospital in an ambulance during Stoke City’s Saturday afternoon clash with Queens Park Rangers. The striker has been in fine form since joining Stoke on a short-term deal from the Premier League giants in the summer.

Mubama, who has six goal contributions this term, was leading the line for Stoke, but was forced off with a horror injury in the second half. It came after a challenge involving QPR’s Jimmy Dunne, who launched himself into a tackle with the 21-year-old attacker.

Mubama immediately appeared in pain, with Stoke’s medical staff rushing onto the pitch to treat the England youth international. Shortly after, a stretcher appeared, with Mubama hoisted up and carried off the pitch to a standing ovation.

BBC Radio 5 Live reporter, Sanny Rudravajhala, posted on X: “Serious injury to Man City loanee Divin Mubama at Stoke City. Horrible challenge by QPR’s Jimmy Dunne. Mubama distressed, stretchered off and receiving significant medical treatment.”

Mubama, who transferred over from West Ham United to City in 2024, made his breakthrough in the FA Cup for the Blues last season. The youngster netted in City’s thumping 8-0 victory over Salford City at the beginning of January, and went on to make his Premier League debut against Ipswich Town later that month.

Speaking after his debut goal, City boss Pep Guardiola said: “His movements are unbelievable. The way he moves in right tempo, the way he presses. The movement for the first goal is perfectly as a striker, it looks easy but how he made the one counter movement against the defender… It’s really, really good! I’m really pleased for many positive things.”
