Christian Horner and wife Geri make family decision after £80m Red Bull settlement | F1 | Sport

Now, it has been reported that Horner and his wife Geri are set to embark on a road trip around Scotland. They have been planning the holiday for years and are calling it their ‘honeymoon’, according to the Daily Mail.

The couple got married a decade ago at a lavish ceremony in the Cotswolds, which was attended by racing royalty including the likes of Sir Jackie Stewart and the late Niki Lauda.

Many of Geri’s celebrity pals such as Emma Bunton, otherwise known as Baby Spice, and comedian Dawn French were also said to have watched them tie the knot.

Horner will get to enjoy plenty of free time before he is able to return to F1 next year. He has been linked with several teams over the last few months but is yet to announce his next move.

Following the news of his Red Bull departure, the 51-year-old said it had been ‘an honour and a privilege’ to lead the team for so long.

He added: “I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved as a team breaking records and reaching heights no one would ever believe were possible and I will forever carry that with me.

“However, for me my biggest satisfaction has been assembling and leading the most amazing group of talented and driven individuals and seeing them flourish.”

Horner is one of the most successful team principals in F1 history, overseeing six Constructors’ Championship triumphs during his time at Red Bull.

He also managed two of the greatest drivers of all time, with Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen each winning four Drivers’ Championship titles under Horner’s leadership.
